Chelsea striker Didier Drogba hopes to get right back to fitness after playing just 28 minutes of his club’s penultimate pre-season friendly on Sunday.
The Ivorian, 33, making his first start since re-signing this summer, limped off injured as Chelsea came from behind to snatch a 2-1 win over Ferencvaros in Budapest.
“I twisted my ankle and I couldn’t continue”, the Ivorian told the club’s website. “In the next few days we are going to do some treatment and I hope everything will be better”.
In Drogba’s absence, Brazilian midfielder Ramires restored parity following Zoran Gera’s opener.
Summer signing Cesc Fabregas helped the Stamford Bridge outfit clinch victory with a solo run and finish ten minutes from time. The goal was the Spaniard’s second in the pre-season since joining from Barcelona.
We pray. For your quick recovery, the best African footballer.
