jonathan-portrait1The Nigerian Government has confirmed two more cases of Ebola Virus Disease in Lagos. This brings to seven, the total number of confirmed cases of infected Nigerians, who are still alive and are isolated. Two others, including a nurse and Liberian national, Patrick Sawyer, have died of the disease.

The federal government also said about 139 persons, who have had primary or secondary contact with the confirmed cases, are currently under surveillance.

Meanwhile, President Goodluck Jonathan has summoned an emergency meeting at the Presidential Villa over the EVD threat.

Jonathan, who was scheduled to travel to Owerri, Imo State capital, canceled the trip to attend to the emergency.

  1. Please every nigerian hould intensify efforts to elighten d public. Today I printed 100 fliers on ebola, its symtom hw it can be contacted,and how it can be prevented.share across MDAs. Not expensive but will go a long way. everyone shd do same.

I think all our border towns, should be well secured.to avoid more entrance of affected people.even Our citizens that are coming back frm affected nations should b tested.i must thank govt at all levels for all they are doing to curtail the spread of EVD. Lord Jesus Christ will give us victory soon.
