Arsenal got their Emirates cup campaign to a flying start by scoring five goals against a destitute Benfica side.

The Gunners drew first blood with Yaya Sanogo scoring a fantastic goal. Soon afterwards, on loan returnee Joel Campbell spanked his name on the scoresheet to make it 2-0 inside the first 40 minutes of the first half.

Sanogo completed the rout scoring 3 goals later. Benfica had a consolation goal with Nicolas Gaitan finish in the 62 minute.

Arsenal lead the table with 8 points going into day two, and take on Monaco on Sunday.
