I Left PDP Because Jonathan Didn’t Want Me There – Oyinlola

Some people call him a traitor for switching allegiance just days to the Osun State governorship election, but former Osun state Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola has blamed the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), especially President Goodluck Jonathan for his exit from the PDP.

Oyinlola defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday at a well-attended mega rally in Osogbo as they drummed support for Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s second term bid.

According to him, President Jonathan and other national leaders of the PDP were responsible for his suspension as the National Secretary of the PDP, a development, which he said, occasioned his exit from the party.

He also said that President Jonathan was responsible for his removal from office in 2010. “I hold Jonathan responsible for my removal from office as the Governor of Osun state in 2010.”

Oyinlola told newsmen at his GRA residence in Osogbo on Wednesday that his love for the people and his intention to cater for the welfare of the populace influenced his defection to the APC.

He noted that former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former Military Head of State, General Ibrahim Babangida and the senate President, Dr David Mark did their best to ensure that he was returned as National Secretary of the party but to no avail.

This, he said, made it clear to him that President Jonathan did not want him in the PDP, hence his resolve to leave the party for him and others that he wanted in the party.

Describing the APC as the only formidable party in the country, Oyinlola said that his decision to join the party was as a result of the ideology of the party and the performances of its governors.

He declared that he would not miss anything in the PDP, just as he assured that his relationship with members of the party would not be affected by his defection to the APC.

  1. There is absolutely notin to miss abt oyinlola in pdp,his fear is for ogbeni nt to hand over to pdp,wot is oyinlola antcedent, corruption.

  2. U are welcome to d real CHANGE!
Its better late than ever. And thank its now clear to all that Jonathan does not want Obasanjo or anybody that relates to him one way or d other in d pdp.

  3. it is good but u made a great political mistake by joining the great suicide bombers party ApC and u have already proofed that u have learnt all their agenda which is to insuld, and blame the president at first infact that alone qaulifies u to be original apc member, because anybody who had not insult or blame the president can never be qaulify to be apc member.the only thing that remains u people in apc to do is to blame gonathan wheneve ur wives refuse sex.u are highly well come to the bokoharamite group but remember the apc party is a party of the confussionists whose motto:is failor and backwardness, but wether somebody likes it or not.It is gonathan till 2019.

  4. Oyinyola, Obasanjo and people like them should go and rest joo…,.They are the major cause of the problems in Nigeria. What more do they want? They should emulate IBB, Abubakar, Ekwueme, Shonekan etc.

  5. Oyinlola was part of core that initiated the now dissolved newPDP, he joined a gang of traitors that walked out of the partys National Congress and formed anti-GEJ nPDP. The entire member of the newPDP are now in APC, so why should GEJ/PDP trust Oyinlola, who again is an ally of OBJ and IBB. I wish Oyinlola well in APC.

  6. Thank God there is alternative dumping ground party for irrelevant people called opposition as enemy sees fault. I don’t even know what relevance chaff like Oyinlola will be add to products of pdp after being tailored as waste? Well he might be used to patch linkage before he organise new APC in the nearest future.
