Manchester United have announced it has agreed a deal to loan Wilfried Zaha back to his former club Crystal Palace on a season-long loan.
Zaha, who cost the Old Trafford club £15m from Palace in January 2013, made just two Premier League appearances for the club before spending the second half of last season on loan at Cardiff City.
Zaha said: “I’m just buzzing to be back, to be in and around the lads again.”
“There have been rumours for a while, but it was only yesterday that it got sorted out and I am happy because I just need to get out and play.
“The best place to come back to is Palace where I am loved.”
Having gone through the youth ranks at the south London club under the guidance of Neil Warnock, who returned for a second spell as manager on Wednesday, Zaha went on to score 18 goals in 143 appearances.
The ‘Eagles’ new boss Neil Warnock, speaking in a news conference on Thursday, had expressed optimism over the completion of the deal.
Warnock said: “We’re very close, we’ve agreed everything, there’s just a few little bits insurance-wise. The forms are signed from our end, and I’ve spoken to Wilfried.”
Palace face a trip to Newcastle on Saturday. The Selhurst Park club have signed Chris Kettings’- on a free transfer- and Fraizer Campbell from Championship side Cardiff City for a fee of £900,000 this summer.
