Premier League new comers Queens Park Rangers (QPR) have recruited Juventus defender Mauricio Isla on a season-long loan.

The Chile international has completed his medical at Loftus Road and has joined coach Harry Redknapp side with a view to a permanent transfer.

“I am very happy to be here- this is the start of an exciting new adventure for me,” the 26-year-old said.

The right wing-back has 51 international caps and started all four of Chile’s matches at the 2014 Fifa World Cup.

“He’s a top player and we’re delighted to have him here,” said Redknapp.

“He showed his quality in the World Cup for Chile and it’s a great loan signing for us.”

The defender, who can also play as a right full-back or defensive midfielder, becomes QPR’s fourth signing this summer, after ex–Manchester and England defender Rio Ferdinand, Steven Caulker and Jordon Mutch moved in the same direction.
