The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed confidence that it will convince governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South South zone to support President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.
National vice chairman of PDP (South South), Dr Cairo Ojugbo, who stated this yesterday after he paid a visit to the national secretariat of the PDP in Abuja, added that it was part of the party’s mission to ensure 100% votes for the president from the zone in 2015.
Out of the six states in the South-South geo-political zone, the APC controls Rivers and Edo states, while Delta, Bayelsa, Cross River and Akwa Ibom states are firmly in the grip of PDP.
Dr Ojugbo stated that the return of President Jonathan in 2015 is a South South agenda and when asked about the opposition governors in the zone, he said, “We will talk to everybody. The structure is massive enough to accept all. We won’t lose any vote”.
“We will talk to everybody”, he stressed.
