APC Using Back Door To Obtain Judgement, Fayose Says

Less than a month before the expiration of the tenure of incumbent Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, the governor-elect of the state, Ayodele Fayose has said that nobody will truncate his sworn-in in October.

Fayose, who was a former governor of Ekiti state, made this statement while speaking with newsmen at his residence at 21, Adetoro Adelaja, Magodo, Lagos, accusing the All Progressives Congress of trying to halt his sworn in.

The governor-elect also informed that he has nothing to do with the hoodlums that attacked thecourt in Ade-Ekiti on Monday during ruling on the preliminary objection raised by him on the eligibility case against him in respect of his candidacy in the Ekiti governorship election filed by members of a group, E-11.

Fayose, who said he was out of the country when the matter happened, insisted that the whole scenario was orchestrated by person working against his emergence as governor of Ekiti State.

“It is a political issue; it has a political undertone. The whole scheming is just about the All Progressives Congress (APC) trying to obtain judgment through the backdoor after losing the election.

“You can recall that Segun Oni lost his tenure due to backdoor judgment. I have heard about a lot of development in our state. But I want to tell you we will not allow any backdoor – Jankara judgment. Their plan is to install the Speaker of the state House of Assembly as governor.

“It is regrettable that the court process is disrupted but don’t forget the average man on the street knows what he wants. My party and I will not allow the APC to bring back the Salami days. We will go through all the process to make sure that they do not truncate the mandate freely given me by the Ekiti people.

“We will implore all the authorities in the executive, judiciary and others to beam their searchlight on the matter,” he said.

Fayose added that: “I don’t have confidence in the Chief Judge, Justice Ayodeji Daramola, because I have alleged him to be a member of the APC.

“Will it not interest you that less than 24 hours the judge has turned in the case file. He is rushing the case to satisfy certain interest. Our chief judge is an interested party, being a member of E11.

“We want a judge who wants to carry out his job as a judge. We heard that he wants to assign the case to himself.

“Their target to frustrate the inauguration or force the Speaker on the people will not be allowed.”

He urged the police authorities in the state to ensure that those arrested in connection with the attack on the court are made to face the music if found guilty.
