Benue Peoples’ Decision To Return David Mark To The Senate In 2015 Irrevocable, Says Suswam

Gabriel-SuswamGovernor Gabriel Suswam of Benue State has advised those nursing the ambition to vie for the Benue South Senatorial District seat to perish their ambition because the state has decided to return Senate President David Mark.

Suswam said this during the public presentation of a book: “Suswam, Politics and governance in Benue State” in Abuja, on Tuesday.

The governor, who is also nursing a senatorial ambition, declared that the Benue South Senatorial seat will not be vacant in 2015.

He said “Our decision to return him to the Senate in 2015 is irrevocable. We in Benue state have endorsed the candidature of Mark to return to the Senate. The position of Senator Mark is not contestable. We want him back and there is no question or argument about it”.

Suswam also declared that the state is united behind President Goodluck Jonathan for 2015 presidential election. According to him, just as the state remains united behind Mark for the 2015 senatorial election, it was equally behind the candidacy of Jonathan.

In his remarks at the occasion, President Goodluck Jonathan, who spoke through Vice President Namadi Sambo, who also wrote the forward to the book, said Governor Suswam has transformed the state from a rural settlement to entrepreneurial environment.

The book presentation was attended by dignitaries including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Pius Anyim and Senator David Mark.
