Zlatan Ibrahimovic reached another milestone for his country on Thursday, as his brace in the 2-0 friendly win over Estonia saw him become Sweden’s all-time leading scorer with 50 strikes.
The Paris St-Germain forward equaled Sven Rydell’s tally of 49 with his effort in the 3rd minute.
The 32-year-old then completed his record-breaking brace on 24 minutes, on his 99th international cap. He will have the chance to build on the impressive haul when he reaches his century in Monday’s Uefa Euro 2016 qualifier against Austria.
He celebrated the feat by lifting his shirt to reveal a t-shirt with written on the back “50 goals” and on the front “it’s you who made it possible”. He was promptly yellow-carded for the gesture.
Ibrahimovic scored a club record 41 goals in all competitions for French Ligue 1 champions PSG last season.
