Idris Elba Set To Drop Music Album In Mandela’s honor


It seems like Idris Elba wasn’t just given the honor to play the honorary role as Mandela in the Hollywood movie because he was a good actor, it was majorly because he actually believed in the project.

The American Hollywood actor, Idris Elba has announced plans to release an album in honor of late South African president and iconic anti-apartheid figure, Nelson Mandela.

Most of you don’t even know that Idris Elba recently, teamed up with rapper, Phyno on the remix of a song by Ghanaian hip life group, VVIP; Elba says he was inspired to make the album after playing a role as Mandela in the 2013 flick, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.

The album, he says will be titled ‘Mi Mandela’ and will feature Mumford & Sons, James Blake, Maverick Sabre, Mr. Hudson and a few South African music acts.

The album is expected to be released on Monday, November 24, 2014 with the moniker, Dris, a short form of Idris Elba’s first name.
