Stoke City striker Osaze Odmwingie has confirmed he has undergone a successful surgery on his injured knee.
The Nigeria international, 33, has waited for over three weeks for swellings on the affected region to subside so the surgery could be carried out, which he finally did.
He tweeted: “Heard we won and @muniesa92 scored twice! What a day and win !! More good news for us Potters as my surgery today also went well !”
Odemwingie was stretchered off in the 65th minute of his club’s first ever top-flight win over champions Manchester City on August 30.
He is not expected to feature in the ‘Potters’s’ first team squad until January 2015.
Odemwingie scored 6 goals in 15 games last season, having joined Stokes from Cardiff during the winter transfer window of 2013.
