The Comptroller-General of Nigerian Immigration Service, Mr David Parradang, has asked officers of Nasarawa State command to cooperate with other security agencies to maintain peace in the country.
He gave the charge when he addressed officers and men of the command in Lafia on Wednesday.
Parradang called for joint efforts among the security organisations in the country to fight the security challenge in some parts of the country.
“I urge you to always be at alert and to collaborate with other security agencies so as to maintain peace and order in the state and the country in general”, he said.
He urged them to be vigilant so as to ensure that immigrants of questionable character did not sneak into the state especially now with the outbreak of the Ebola virus in some West African countries.
Parradang also urged the officers to intensify patrol of the state’s borders so as to save the people of Nasarawa state from insurgents and criminals who may want to sneak into the state to perpetuate evil.
The comptroller-general, who inspected offices at the state command headquarters, expressed optimism that it would soon be relocated.
He told them to be diligent in the discharge of their duties and to avoid doing anything against the rules and operations of the immigration service. (NAN)
