Super Falcons Invite 30 for AWC

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has called up 30 players to camp ahead of the African Women’s Championship (AWC), slated for October 11 to 25 in Namibia.

The Super Falcons team administrator Ruth David says all invited players and coaches are expected to report to Serob Hotel in Abuja on Sunday.

She said letters of invitation have been forwarded to the players’ respective clubs for prompt release.

Fresh from a second-place finish at the Fifa Women’s Under-20 World Cup in Canada last month, Rivers Angels’ trio of Asisat Oshoala, Loveth Ayila and Uchechi Sunday, as well as Pelican Stars’s Chiwendu Ihezuo are included in the list.

Six-time champions, Nigeria, are drawn in the same group with hosts, Namibia, debutantes, Zambia and Cote d’Ivoire.
