I’m Not A Nigerian – Asari Dokubo

Former Niger Delta militant leader, Alhaji Mujahid Asari Dokubo, who enjoys being controversial and always in the news has said he is not a Nigerian but an Ijaw man, with the notion that Ijaws are not Nigerians.

The ever controversial Dokubo made the claim while taking a swipe at a fan identified as Olabode Oladuja, on his Facebook page used some slanderous words on his recipient.

Dokubo, formerly known as Melford Dokubo Goodhead Jr, who has proven over the years that he is not a man that can be intimidated or compelled into doing things against his wish was a leader in the fight for the emancipation of the Niger-Delta as well as the control of its abundant mineral resources.

Responding to Oladuja, he said the Asari he claimed to admire had never existed or only existed in the fragment of his jaundice mind, saying it was very pathetic that Oladuja thought he was a lackey to his Yoruba thieving political elites.

He asked him what he thought his struggle was about, saying he is an Ijaw man fighting for the independence of the Ijaw nation from the strangle hold of the Gambaris, the foxy thieving Yoruba political elites, and their conscious or unconscious collaborators.

“I have gone up to the Nigerian Supreme Court to state unequivocally that I,Mujahid Abubakr Dokubo-Asari, I am not a Nigerian and do not wish to become a Nigerian,” he said. “On this old sing song of juicy fruits, it has become so monotonous….that is another misconstruction of my struggle. My struggle is for Self determination and resource take over by any means necessary and that is what had inspired me into armed struggle.”

Dokubo further revealed that he always laugh when people say he supports President Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan for juicy fruits, and asked if the Yoruba people celebrated Obafemi Awolowo because he gave their fathers juicy fruits.

He stated that if the Yoruba’s have the right to support Awolowo or Abiola, why would he not also have the same right to support President Jonathan. He said if the Yoruba’s should create a ‘Yoruba Demi-gods, demagogues and heroes’ for him to adorn and celebrate, they fail because his relationship with their political elites was because he thought they had genuine concerns for the worst apartheid treatment of the people of the Niger Delta, but was wrong.

The freedom fighter said the elites are just like the Gambaris but worst in their modus operandi, noting that if you collaborate with the Gambaris, you will fail just as it was recorded in Ilorin.

It would be recalled that Asari Dokubo was recently accused of being one of the Nigerians aboard the private jet that was seized by the South African government for smuggling the sum of $9.3 million illegally into the country.

  1. Thi s Dokubo is a thief. He is only exploiting people. He dwells on settlement. Pipeline watchnight or is it dayguard? Where are the others they staryed tHe strugle together. He used and dumped them. He is Wayo asari wayo mujahid. Wayo dokubo. I pity his people who think he is fighting their course. He is fighting for his purse. Ask him why he built his University far away from Ijaw. Land. Shine your eye Ijaw people. Period

  2. Asari Dokubo is unfair to the Yoruba nation. He should ask and answer himself the following question first and publish same for public reading. 1. WOULD A SOURDOUGH PERSON WOULD HAVE BECOME THE PRESIDENT WITHOUT OBASANJO’S ASSISTANCE? Was It Not The Save Nigeria Group Led By The Duo Of Prof. SOYINKA .And Pastor Tunde BAKARE that made the Senate & Rep. To make the article of Necessity that made Jonathan to function as Ag. President? What motion did Gbajabiala, another Yorubaman moved on the floor of the house towards making Jonathan presidency a reality? What was the total vote garnered to Jonathan in the south west compared to what he got from the south south? Did southwest vote not surpass the southsouth votes? From Nigeria history Asari Dokubo people are traditional ally of the people he derivative call the Gambaris today. The southeast and southsouth always align with the north leaving the Yorubas standing alone. Dokubo should blame politicians and past leaders from his place. They rejected Awo severally. They and the Ibos abandoned MKO in the struggle to claim his mandate. The Yorubas always want the best for themselves and the nation as a whole. We suffer most when OBJECT was the president. Show me a prominent Yoruba person in Jonathan’s cabinet? Thank God the Agriculture Minister is proving to be a good ambassador of the Yoruba race in excellent performance. I know Dokubo is damn right on the need to look at the geographical area called Nigeria. We are strange. Bedfellows definitely. Weneed a ttrue federalism as AWO and the true Yoruba leaders like Pa Ajasin, Adesanya, Enahoro, Tinubu kept advocating. Jonathan is in power today busy destabilizing Yoruba land, forgetting that by the time he leaves and power goes back to the north, his people will be back to the status quo ante before his presidency. Instead of strengthening the various natioalities, he is strengthening the same structure that Dokubo is complaining about. Those he thought are loyal to him today , even if he ensure that they succeeded him, will treat him and the southsouth people the same way he treated OBJ. I WANT Solubility to realise that the Yoruba nation under a genuine leaders and structure doesn’t need Yvette southsouth oil to excel. Chief Awolowo proved it. Tinubu proved it, Aregbesola is proving it among others. Dokubo should go and read Bill Clinton’s speech as a sitting President when he visited Nigeria. He said and l quote, “the world economy will be dominated continuously by people with resources upstairs and not under the feet”. THE SOUTH SHOULD TELL JONATHAN TO FIGHT FOR THEM AND NOT SECOND OR THIRD TERM.
