Rivers 2015: Mu’azu Endorses Wike, Says ‘You’re On Course’ •Donates N250m To Mile 1 Market Traders

Adamu Mu'azuAs the race for 2015 general elections gather momentum, the speculated governorship ambition of the Minister of State for Education, Chief Nyesom Wike, may have received the blessings of the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Indications to this effect emerged on Monday when the PDP national chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, during a visit to the state party secretariat in Port Harcourt, commended the minister, saying “Wike, you are on course”.

The PDP national chairman was in Rivers State for empowerment/distribution of relief materials to the Rumowoji traders at the popular Mile 1 Market in the Diobu area of Port Harcourt, which was gutted by fire in December 2013.

Mu’azu made a donation of N250 million to the traders on behalf of the PDP and announced to them that President Goodluck Jonathan had promised to rebuild the market.

Speaking earlier at the party secretariat, Mu’azu said he had noted the various contributions of Mr. Wike to the sustenance and unity of the Rivers State chapter of the party.

While thanking the party faithful for their loyalty and dedication, the national chairman declared that PDP would produce the next governor of Rivers State.

His words: “I’m happy with your dedication; I’m happy with your loyalty to your party and by the grace of God, we will be the next occupant of the Brick House”, in reference to Rivers State Government House.

“I want to also commend the effort of Wike, the Minister of State for Education, who has remained dogmatic and very, very, very committed to the cause of the party in the state.

“He has done a lot of things to the unity of purpose in the party and has brought a lot of encouragement to party men and women in the state and indeed, to us at the headquarters. I’m very happy with the synergy working between him and Total (PDP National Deputy Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus)”, he said.
