Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar said he has no plan to step down for anybody in the race to pick up the presidential ticket of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for the 2015 presidential election.
Atiku, who spoke in Dutse, Jigawa State, shortly before he held a closed-door consultation with State Governor Sule Lamido, declared his intention to continue running for the office of the president until he succeeds. He however described his chances if winning the APC presidential ticket at the party’s December 10 convention, as bright.
Should he lose the party’s ticket, Atiku said he was ready to support whoever emerges at the primary election to ensure that person’s victory at the 2015 presidential election.
Atiku’s closed-door meeting with Lamido lasted for one hour 30 minutes at the governor’s personal residence.
