Giggs: Chelsea Head and Shoulders Above Others

Manchester United assistant manager Ryan Giggs says Chelsea are much better than the rest of the Premier League teams.

Leaders Chelsea are six points above second-placed Southampton, who drew 1-1 at Aston Villa on Monday night, and are 13 ahead of United, who returned to the top four just last Saturday.

“Their back four has not changed and they have consistency in their team,” Giggs told BBC Radio 5 live.

“They are head and shoulders above anyone else at the moment.”

With several players out injured, United managed to secure their first away win at Arsenal on Saturday.

Luke Shaw was forced out of the 2-1 win at the Emirate Stadium early, with an ankle injury while fellow defenders, Rafael, Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo and Jonny Evans are also sidelined, midfielder Daley Blind and Jesse Lingard are currently out.

The Welshman, who turns 41 on Saturday, laments the impact of a lengthy injury list on United’s campaign, saying: “You are seeing attacking football, us trying to score goals and taking the risks but we have not been able to get any consistency due to injuries.”
