Nigeria Unmoved In Latest Fifa Rankings

Nigeria retains her position on the latest edition of the Fifa/ Coca-cola World Rankings.

The Super Eagles failed to qualify for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Equatorial Guinea but gained 24 points to stay put on 42nd position in the world and 9th in Africa- their position from the previous edition.

The Afcon holders could drop in rating post-Equatorial Guinea 2015; however, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) might organise international friendlies to- at least- offset drastic slump prior to the start of the 30th edition of Africa’s showpiece event.

Nigeria failed to beat South Africa earlier in the month- a result which cost them the defense of the Afcon title it won in the latter nation last year.

The Eagles were rated fifth in the world in April 1994- their highest-ever ranking till date.
