Kobe Bryant has passed Michael Jordan on the National Basketball Association’s all-time scoring list after scoring 26 points to help LA Lakers beat the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday.
Bryant, 36, now sits third with 32, 310 points after 1,269 games behind Karl Malone (36, 928) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387) in career points.
“It’s gone by really fast- it feels great to be at this point,” Bryant said.
He added: “It’s a huge honour. It’s been such a long journey.”
Bryant passed Jordan’s 32, 292 points achieved in 1,092 appearances with a pair of free throws in the second quarter against the Timberwolves.
“I try to learn so much from him (Jordan) in particular,” Bryant said. “He’s been such a huge part of my success and career in giving me advice. The relationship has meant everything to me.”
