A former member of the House of Representatives and anti-corruption activist, Dino Melaye, on Monday won the ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to contest the Kogi West Senatorial District election in 2015.
He polled 2,077 votes to beat Bidemi Adeyemi, who scored 326 votes.
The result was announced in Kabba by the Chairman, APC Primary Election Committee in Kogi State, Ebitei Francis, and Secretary, Bala Ajeje.
With his victory on Monday, Mr. Melaye will go to the 2015 senatorial polls against the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate and incumbent, Senator Smart Adeyemi.
You may recall that Mr. Melaye represented the Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency of Kogi State in the House of Representatives on the platform of the PDP between 2007 and 2011.
