Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko on Friday stated that the harmonization of the state executive committee in the state has transformed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, into a mega party.

The harmonization came following the recent defection of the governor and his supporters from the Labour Party (LP) to the PDP which at the time threatened to tear the party apart.

The governor, who led the new committee to the national headquarters of the party in Abuja where they took their oath of office before the national leadership, expressed confidence that the inauguration of the new leadership signals an end to all previous litigation instituted by some members of the party.

Mimiko’s defection to the PDP few months ago had generated furore in the party following irreconcilable differences in the composition of the state executives of the party.

Some leaders of the party in the state led by the state Chairman, Ebenezer Alabi had insisted that the agreement reached with the governor by their national leaders, without their input on sharing of party positions was unfair and unacceptable to them.
