According to AfricanFootball.com, Orjinta was found dead on New Year’s eve by neighbors who had noticed his absence. No other information surrounding his untimely death has been received.

Until his death, the tough-tackling central defender was a coach. He was capped by Nigeria at full international level and posted a brief stint in Norway in his playing days. He was aged 33 years old.
