KAA Gent have beaten top Premier League clubs to the services of Nigerian youngster, Moses Simon, the Belgian club have confirmed.
Gent announced on Wednesday they have reached an agreement with AS Trencin for Simon, who featured for Nigeria at the 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup in Turkey.
The news comes as a transfer blow for English clubs Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, who had reportedly shown interest in the 19-year-old.
Simon has been invited by the Flying Eagles for their training camp ahead of their 2015 African Youth Championship in Senegal.
He scored 17 goals in a total of 39 appearances for Slovakian club AS Trencin last season.
Gent are currently fifth in the Belgian Jupiler League table with 34 points from 21 matches.
