Lagos State governor, Babatunde Fashola has described President Goodluck Jonathan as an angry man, who is recriminating about people criticising his government.

“I watched the president of my country speak in my state for about one hour and I saw an angry man. He was recriminating about people criticising his government. He was blaming all who ruled before him, forgetting that he has been on this job for six years,” he said on Thursday at the mobilisation and interactive campaign of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benin City, Edo State.

“For 29 minutes, he did not reveal his plans on power, security and corruption. Now after six and a half years without being able to articulate what he’s doing and what he will do, he keeps blaming everybody, forgetting that he is the Commander-in-Chief. If the kitchen is too hot, as it is becoming obvious, he must get out of it.”

“After six years, he has not been able to explain what he has been doing with your time and 52 percent of your revenue.”

Speaking on the 2007 presidential election, Fashola said, “God bless the soul of the late President (Umaru) Yar’Adua, who admitted that the election was flawed. They rigged everything. It was Professor Osinbajo who challenged all of us, saying we can’t let the situation go down without a fight.

“He brought the late Adrian Forty, who was a forensic expert. They went through millions of ballot papers, one-by-one, showing where some people voted more than 100 times and places where they got tired of thump-printing and used palm kernel. That is the capacity of the man who wants to become your vice president; he’s never afraid of hard work.”

The Lagos governor alerted the people that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was ready to rig the February elections through the amendment to the Electoral Act, whereby election cases would now be decided within 180 days.

“So, their current mantra is go and rig and frustrate the trial. That is what they want to do this time around,” he said.

Present at the campaign were vice-presidential candidate of the APC, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole and members of his cabinet, leaders of the party, traditional rulers, market women and others.

  1. Please keep quiet Governor. You are disenfranchising the poor, building shopping malls for your cronies,Atlantic cities for foreign invaders. Your people will not know what hit them when they realise you sold them to colonizers. Building mega city while you are killing the entrepreneurial spirit.

  2. The observation of Governor Fashola mirrors that of educated and enlightened true Nigerians. I was so embarrassed when he was on MEND. What has MEND got to do with it? That’s petty! I was eagerly awaiting to hear PDP plan (if any) for tackling corruption the deadly disease ruining our country, but alas, nothing but nothing was said! What about the restoration of electricity 24/7? Hun, so sad, nothing but nothing was said! What about the security of persons and property? Again, nothing but nothing was said! If I was asked to rate the campaign of APC and that of PDP on a scale of 1-100, I would rate APC 75 and PDP 20. What a failure!

  3. I want every patriotic nigerian to ask himself “why should Jonathan go back to presidency? To give nigerians constant electricity he could not give for the past six years? For power sharing with boko-haram? Or have nigerians accepted boko-haram as an arm of the government? Or to divide Nigeria? What happens to igbo millionaires who do business in the north? Can they survive on oil alone?

  4. Whenever this man opens his mouth to talk,I weep. I weep for a country that has institutionalised zoning. This Fashola should be our president! You can never hear him rant or make stupid comments. Why is he a muslim? He’d have made the best candidate for vice presidency & eventually the best president.

  5. Well spoken, I was wondering who to Vote for before but since President Jonathan began attacking personality rather than the Issues at hand I really can’t wait to be part of the people that will send him to Otunoke. #Jonathan most go

  6. Yoruba people stay in the confort of their house(lagos) and say what the do not know, it him come to the north east and see what christians are facing.
