Newcastle United’s reported interest in Bamidele ‘dele’ Alli is more relevant than paper talks, according to Milton Keynes Dons manager Karl Robinson.
The highly-rated 18-year-old midfielder, who has scored 11 goals for MK Dons in League One this season, has been rumoured to worth £9m.
Newcastle are looking to beat Liverpool and Bayern Munich to the England U-19 international but many doubt if the ‘Magpies’ are willing to spend big in the current transfer dispensation, judging by their staunch transfer policy and ‘Dons’’ manager Robinson has hinted an offer has not been made.
“Obviously, there has been a lot of talk about Dele and Newcastle, Robinson told BBC Three Counties Radio. “I don’t think it’s paper talk, I think it’s a bit more than that, but it’s nothing we’ve heard about yet.”
Teenage prodigee Alli is expected to be in action on Saturday when MK Dons take on Barnsley in an FA Cup fourth round tie.
