Southampton and Senegal await the outcome of scan on Sadio Mane after the winger pulled up during Thursday’s 2-0 win over Arsenal.
Mane, 22, was injured shortly after scoring the Saints’ opener from a ridiculous angle and was withdrawn four minutes to the break.
Manager Ronald Koeman has said he will wait until later on Friday for news on the injury, which forced Mane to receive medical attention twice before finally giving way at St. Mary’s Stadium.
“Sadio had a visit to make a scan in the hospital, later we will know exactly what happened and maybe to say how long he will be out for,” said Koeman in his press conference ahead of the FA Cup third round match at home to Ipswich Town on Sunday.
The summer signing from Red Bull Salzburg has been named in Senegal’s squad for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations beginning in Equatorial Guinea on January 17 through February 8.
He has scored 6 goals in 16 caps for the Teranga Lions, including two goals in the final Afcon 2015 qualification tournament against Egypt and Bostwana (both in September).
