Seydou Doumbia has joined Italian Serie A side AS Roma from CSKA Moscow, according to the Russian champions.
The Cote d’Ivoire international moved to the Army club’s Arena Khimki stadium in May 2010 after an two impressive seasons with Young Boys in the Swiss Super League.
He went on to flourish at CSKA, scoring 61 goals in 95 league appearances and was twice voted top scorer of the Russian Premier League in 2011/12, 2013/14.
The club said in a statement: “PFC CSKA thanks Seydou for his contribution in the successes of the team in the past years and wishes all the best in his future career!”
The 27-year-old forward in currently at the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) in Equatorial Guinea, where his 72nd-minute strike against Guinea forced a 1-1 opening day draw for ten-man Ivory Coast over a week ago.
Doumbia won the Russian championship, the Cup and Super Cup twice apiece during his time with CSKA.
