Turn Of Nasarawa North To Produce Next Gov, Says Maku

Labaran MakuNasarawa State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Allaince, Labaran Maku, on Sunday said it was the turn of Nasarawa North to produce the next governor of the state.

Maku stated this while addressing members of Mada Development Association, Kokona Branch, at Angwan Takpa village of Kokona Local Government Area of the state.

He said that zoning of governorship seat in the state would ensure justice, equity, fairness and balance in the distribution of power.

“Nasarawa is a unique state where all the tribes and religions are found, hence the need for zoning in order to reduce tension and suspicion among the people of the state.

”Power sharing is seriously needed in Nasarawa state”, he said, adding that the Western and Southern Senatorial Zones had already spent eight years each in power.

”Since Governor Umaru Al-Makura is completing the second term of Nasarawa south senatorial zone, now is the turn of northen senatorial zone to produce the next governor of the state”, he said.

Maku promised that under APGA, he would present a new agenda for peace, unity and justice where all tribes and religions in the state would live in harmony.

He also pledged to reject any group that wants to divide the state on the basis of religion or tribe, so as to ensure justice for all.

According to him, if elected, he will provide employment to the youth, and ensure unity, peace and development in the state.

Maku said he possesses the required leadership experience to pilot the affairs of the state, and promised to run an all-inclusive government devoid of tribal or religious sentiments.

Responding, Donko Mariku, Chairman, MDA Garaku branch, thanked the APGA governorship candidate for the visit, and advised all politicians to conduct their campaigns with decorum.

He said that the association would sensitise its members on the need to embrace peace and shun violence for the overall development of the area and the state. (NAN)
