The German Football Association (DFB) has suspended one of Jerome Boateng’s three-match sanctions after picking up a red card in Bayern Munich’s 1-1 draw with Schalke last Tuesday.
The Germany international defender was dismissed for fouling a goal-bound Sidney Sam in the box in a last ditch effort.
Bayern announced they will appeal the three-match ban, which normally is reserved for violent conducts and other serious offences. And the disciplinary committee of the DFB on Monday agreed to cut back the ban to two games.
The reviewed punishment, which began with last weekend’s game against Stuttgart, implies he will now be available for next week’s trip to Paderborn, after Saturday’s clash with Hamburg.
