A young boy from Missouri has been left traumatized after he was kidnapped and tortured by a stranger, he got the shock of his life when he realized the kidnap was orchestrated by his own family. USA Today reports:

Police said that the boy’s mother, grandmother and aunt, asked a man to kidnap the boy because he was “too nice to strangers.” Police have arrested the three family members and the man for kidnapping, which was meant “to teach the child a lesson about stranger danger.”

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said that the 6-year-old boy was lured into a van by his aunt’s coworker, Nathan Firoved. Firoved lured the child into his van after he came off a school bus. He then told the child that he will never see his mother again.

When the child began to cry, Firoved showed him a gun and threatened to harm him if he did not stop crying. Firoved tied the hands and feet of the child, covered his face and drove around for a while.

While the child was blindfolded, he was taken to his family’s basement where his aunt allegedly removed his pants and told him that he would be sold into sexual slavery, according to police.
