The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has described the optimism of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship Candidate, Iyiola Omisore that he would win his case against Governor Rauf Aregbesola at the appeal court, as delusional.
This came in reaction to a video clip widely circulated last week by the PDP in Abuja as ‘evidence that the APC rigged the governorship election in Osun State. The APC said in a statement by its Director of Publicity, Kunle Oyatomi, that the video will not make any difference to Omisore’s case at the court of appeal.
“Did this fellow (Omisore) seriously think that the Court of Appeal will accommodate this after-thought? The reason that video was not presented to the Tribunal in the first instance was because it was fake,” the statement by Oyatomi read in part.
The APC claimed that it had gotten wind of the production of the particular video since November last year and had informed security forces accordingly, That, the party said, was what prevented the PDP from presenting it at the Tribunal as was their original plan.
Oyatomi noted that the case Omisore argued for 180 days at the Tribunal was meticulously dismantled in a landmark judgment that lasted over seven hours by the three-man panel which struck it out as unworthy in every material particular.
He therefore wondered why the PDP chieftain, who had the alleged video clip evidence, did not present it at the tribunal.
