Transfer Deadline Day: Adebayor Set For Life Outside White Hart Lane

Emmanuel Adebayor’s three-and-a-half-year relationship with Totteham Hotspur is drawing to a close as he’s out of favour at the London club.

Adebayor is unsettled at White Hart Lane and the club are willing to listen to offers either on loan or preferably on a permanent basis.

A number of clubs have already been linked with a move for the Togolese international, but a supposed reunion with former managers Mark Hughes and Harry Redknapp has kept the mills spinning in the early hours of the 2015 winter transfer deadline day.

The only hindrance to a possible switch to Stoke City or Queens Park Rangers (QPR) is the 30-year-old’s astronomical wages.

Paris St-Germain were, as at last week, in the race for the ex- Arsenal striker but failed to come to terms. AS Roma, who have now landed Cote d’Ivoire forward Seydou Doumbia from CSKA Moscow, also saw a deal fall through.

Redknapp, who was manager at Tottenham Hotspur, when they first signed Adebayor on loan from Manchester City in 2011, has enquired about the player but cannot afford the wages.

Stoke are in dire need of a striker following confirmation that Spaniard Bojan Krkic cannot play again this season.

There are outside chances for Adebayor to join West Bromwich Albion, who are willing to do away with Brown Ideye if they could seal a deal for a new striker.

At the moment this is for sure; Adebayor’s chances are slim at Spurs but there is a late scramble for the striker elsewnere in the English top-flight.
