Boko Haram-TwitterThe Twitter account of the insurgent group, Jama’atu Ahlis Sunnah Lidda’Awati Wal-Jihad, popularly known as Boko Haram has been suspended.

It would be recalled that the group had operated the Twitter handle @Alurwa_Alwuthqa as part of its propaganda agenda, uploading video interviews and pictures of child soldiers being trained on gun handling.

The group had also announced its capture of Monguno in Borno State via the account using Arabic and Hausa languages and sometimes using English as subtitles.

The handle, which started sending out tweets on the 18th of January, 2015 with a message about Baga, had attracted close to 5,000 followers before it was shut on Sunday.
