A delegation of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side Dolphins FC finally set out for Tunis from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos on Friday afternoon.
Players and officials slept at the MMIA overnight before finally boarding an Emirates Airline flight to Dubai on Friday, to connect a six-hour flight from Dubai to Tunis on Saturday morning.
They are expected to arrive in the Tunisian capital few hours to kickoff of their Caf Confederation Cup first round first leg tie against Club Africain.
Chairman Enyimba FC, Felix Anyansi, confirmed to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) that the Champions League debutantes flew into Owerri on Friday afternoon, to connect Aba, venue of Sunday’s encounter.
Renowned South African referee Daniel Bennett from South Africa is the referee for Sunday’s clash, with compatriots Lindikhaya Bolo, Songezo Xalakhe and Tinyiko Victor Hlungwani as assistant referee 1, assistant referee 2 and fourth official respectively. The match commissioner is Ghanaian Fred Crentsil.
