Sunderland manager, Gus Poyet, has been charged by the Football Association (FA) following his sending off in the match against Hull City on Tuesday.
The Uruguayan angrily kicked over a water bottled prior to his touchline tussle with Hull boss Steve Bruce before he made his way to the stands in the 35 minute of his side’s 1-1 draw at rivals Hull City.
Bruce has been contacted by the FA over the touchline incident with Poyet at the KC Stadium and “formally reminded of his responsibilities.”
The FA alleged Poyet’s behavior amounted to improper conduct and has been given until 18:00GMT on 9 March to respond to the charge.
Poyet lost his cool after Jack Rodwell was booked for diving. Replay suggested referee Mike Dean was right but Sunderland coach was having none of the video simulation, at whose point he was already over at Bruce’s corner to have a word.
Whatever Poyet must have said did not go down well with the English manager, who was held back from going after his counterpart on his way to the stands after being sent off. Poyet’s FA charge relates to his kicking a water bottle carrier in the dugout.
