Flying Eagles Jet Out For AYC On Wednesday

Delegation of the Nigeria Under-20 national team will depart for the African Youth Championship in Senegal on Wednesday, officials have announced.

The team’s secretary Aliyu Ibrahim Awal disclosed that the Flying Eagles will fly out of Abuja via Lagos and Banjul, Gambia to Dakar.

“We will leave Abuja Wednesday afternoon on our way to Dakar,” said Awal.

Nigeria will play its first game on Sunday against hosts Senegal at the Stade Leopold Sedar Senghor in Dakar (kick-off: 5:30pm Nigerian time).

The semi-finalists in this year’s African Youth Championship will represent Africa at the Fifa U-20 World Cup in New Zealand starting from May.

Meanwhile, coach Manu Garba has named a 21-man party for the tournament.
