GEJ-Card ReaderThe results of the presidential election in 11 out of the 27 local government areas in Imo State collated on Sunday in Owerri, the state capital, show that President Goodluck Jonathan, who is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, is clearly leading his main challenger, Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The collated results were from Ideato North, Isiala-Mbaino, Isu, Obowo, Ohaji-Egbema, Okigwe, Owerri Municipal, Owerri West, Nwangene, Oru East and Ideato South LGAs.

Jonathan polled a total of 210,022 votes to take the driver’s seat ahead of Buhari, who managed to poll 50,977 votes.

However, the APC flag bearer made a strong showing in Ideato South, the local government of the State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, where he polled 12, 128 votes as against Jonathan’s 6,406 votes.
