A commercial motorcyclist, Raphael Abiodun, on Monday, beat his wife, Bose, to a pulp over disagreement on the outcome of Saturday Presidential and National Assembly (NASS) elections, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

According to NAN, which cited a source, the couple, living in Igangu area of Omu-Aran in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State are in support of different political parties. Their relationship thus became strained when the result of the elections favoured one of the parties.

Reports say that trouble started when the wife, Bose, in the course of celebrating her party’s victory in the House of Representative and Senatorial elections in the area, made unpleasant gestures toward her husband, Abiodun.

The development was said to have angered Abiodun, who immediately pounced on Bose and beat his wife to a pulp. It took the intervention of neighbours and some commercial motorcyclists in the area to save the situation from degenerating further, NAN reports.
