Pillars in Tetouan for Rescheduled Champions League Tie

Glo Premier League side Kano Pillars have arrived in the Moroccan City of Tetouan ahead of Saturday’s Caf Champions League first round first leg clash with Mohgreb Athletic Tetouan (MAT).

The clash with the Moroccan champions was rescheduled by a week after the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) champions’ ordeal on their way to a league match which left five players injured.

A 36-man delegation traveled aboard an Egypt Airline from Kano to Egypt and then connected Casablanca from Cairo, before arriving in Tetouan via a local flight.

Saturday’s 1/16 round match kicks off at 8pm local time (9pm Nigerian time). Sai Masugida have traveled ahead of time to acclimatize to the cold weather in North Africa.

Cape-Verdean referee Antonio Manuel Fortes Rodrigues will take centre stage, alongside compatriots Alvaro Iliseu Silva Cardoso, Luis Fernandes Barbosa and Victor Manuel Rocha Lima as assistant referee 1, assistant referee 2 and fourth official respectively.

Diori Maiga Seidou from Niger Republic will be match commissioner.

Meanwhile, the League Management Company (LMC) has moved Pillars’ Match Day 3 league game at Shooting Stars until further notice.
