Primetime CEO, Dayo ‘D1’ Adeneye Turns 55

His is one of the pioneers of Nigerian music and has remained relevant in the industry.

He tried out his hands in politics just a couple of months ago but wasn’t successful.

Dayo Adeneye who is a year older today turned 55.

Dayo aka D1 started off in the entertainment arena upon returning to Nigeria from America in 1996 when he joined Kenny Ogungbe to set up Primetime Entertainment.

He attended his primary education at St. Catherine’s Nursery and Primary School, Surulere (Lagos) between 1970 and 1975.

He later moved to Ijebu-Ode Grammar School in Ogun State where he obtained his Higher School Certificate.

D1 attended Federal School of Arts and Science, Victoria Island, Lagos between 1980 and 1981 before he got admission to study at the prestigious Southern University of New Orleans, USA where he graduated with a BSC degree in Business Administration in 1985.

Between 1985 and 1986 he also bagged a Masters’ degree in Mass Communication with emphasis on Radio and Television production from Southern University, Baton Rouge, USA.

D1 tried his hands in politics in 2014, joining the APC as he sought to be a member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, representing Odogbolu constituency, he however lost out at the party primaries.

He’s married to Caroline Adeneye, who is the boss of Sierra Events Management; they got married in 2001 and the union is blessed with 3 children….
