President-elect, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) and former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, yesterday paid condolence visit to the family of late Inspector General of Police, Alhaji MD Yusuf.
Buhari described the late elder statesman as a good man with a wealth of experience and whom the nation would dearly miss.
Obasanjo described the late police boss as a good friend, who helped to make the nation great and prayed for the repose of his soul.
Other dignitaries who visited the late Yusuf’s residence yesterday were former IGP Musiliu Smith, former House Speaker Aminu Masari, Umar Mutallab and some Islamic scholars from Morocco.
Representatives, who received dignitaries on behalf of the family were Alhaji Lawal Kaita, Alhaji Amadu Kurfi, Alhaji Audu Usman and the deceased’s oldest son, Aminu Yusuf.
The late IGP died in Abuja last week at the age of 85 after a brief illness.
