Police Arrest MASSOB Members Armed With Explosives In Imo State #NigeriaDecides

The police in Imo state have arrested members of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), suspected to be in possession of  Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).

The suspects, identified as Love Davison and Eze Charles, were said to have made the IEDs in a bid to disrupt peace in the state today as the governorship and House of Assembly elections take place.

Parading the suspects at the Imo state police command headquarters in Owerri, the capital of the state, the command spokesman, Andrew Enwerem, said the men of the command arrested the suspects following a tip off. He said officers raided the hideout of the suspects at Umuokirika Ekwereazu in Mbaise LGA of the state, and arrested the two suspects.

He told Channels TV that efforts were being intensified by the police to apprehend the leader of the gang, whose identity is yet to be confirmed.

Recovered from the suspects were a drilling machine, gunpowder, tins of paint, thread, buckets and other items identified as components of the IEDs.

Meanwhile, MASSOB has insisted on the removal of the Independent National Electoral Commission boss, Attahiru Jega.
