Paris St-Germain (PSG) will be without Brazilian defender David Luiz for four weeks due to a thigh injury, manager Laurent Blanc has confirmed.
The ex-Chelsea FC centre-back picked up the injury during the Ligue 1 leaders’ crucial win over Olympique des Marseilles on Sunday. He pulled up after just 34 minutes.
Luiz is now expected to miss the French Cup final, League Cup semi-final, and both legs of the Uefa Champions League last-8 tie with Barcelona.
The 3-2 scrape at Marseille saw the defending champions return to the summit of the French top flight and currently lead rivals Lyon by just one point.
Luiz has been a key member of Blanc’s team this season, making 39 appearances in all competitions.
