Soldiers Recover 310 PVCs In Delta

At least eight ballot boxes and 310 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) have been recovered from hoodlums in Ndokwa East Local Government Area, Delta State.

This was disclosed on Friday by Commanding Officer of 222 Battalion, Agbarha-Otor, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, Lt. Col. Mathew Oyekola, during a show-of-force aimed at reassuring electorates of a hitch-free voting exercise today by men of the battalion.

“As a command, we made series of successes in stemming the tide of election irregularities by arresting some persons who wanted to perpetrate violence as well as the recovery of 8 ballot boxes and 310 PVCs at Ndokwa East Local Government Area,” the Nigerian Tribune quoted him to have said.

“The suspects and the electoral materials have since been handed over to the police and the Returning Officer for the LGA.”

The show-of-force exercise embarked upon by the soldiers covered Ughelli North, Ughelli South, Isoko North, Isoko South and Ethiope East, Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West, Bomadi as well as Burutu Local Government Areas.
