Iheanacho Granted Entry Visa to New Zealand

Manchester City youngster Kelechi Iheanacho has been granted entry visa to New Zealand and will fly directly from his club base ahead of the rest of his Nigeria U-20 team-mates.

This development has eased early concerns about the forward’s availability for the Flying Eagles at this month’s World Youth Championship following his late application for entry visa.

Iheanacho, one of the three Europe-based players who did not participate with the rest of the African champions’ squad at a training camp in Nuremberg, Germany, is now expected to arrive in New Zealand ahead of the rest of coach Manu Garba’s 21-man squad.

He will fly from Manchester and make a stop in Singapore before connecting the Pacific Island nation.

Other players not part of the training camp are Granada’s Isaac Success and Belgium-based Moses Simon.

Iheanacho was named MVP at the 2013 Fifa U-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. He however missed the Flying Eagles’ all-conquering campaign at the African Youth Championship in Senegal, where the coach Manu side claimed a record extending seventh title.

  1. I wish our Flying Eagles the best of luck. You will win this 2015 U-20 FIFA World Cup. Therefore fly to New Zealand and beat every team that come your way. You must remember Nigeria’s U-20 has suffered a lot of humilation from these Samba male initiates of South America. But this time around, I want you guys to retalliate by winning all your matches with heavy scoreline. Obviously for now, you are a better Team than the current Brazillian U-20 Team. However the fight will be settled on the Battle Field, and scoreline shall be determined by your response to the rhythm of Skelewu against the way the Brazilians dance to the tones of the Samba. The African song is still on, echoing heavillly in the distance, do not give the Samba male initiates of Brazil enough space to dance. I can tell you, bring on Brazil, we will them 6-1. The Nigerian Under-20 will win all their matches, smash the FIFA Records and bring home the 2015 World Cup to Nigeria.

  2. I do agree with my brother Stephen Achugwo. This cup belongs to Nigeria and Idont have any doubts or fear, let’s just continue to help the team In prayers and give them all our support. Therefore guys pls go and do Nigeria proud more than wat happen in UAE 2013.GOD BLESS U ALL.
