NFF Confirms Salisu Yusuf as Keshi’s Assistant

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed former Kano Pillars coach, Salifu Yusuf, as assistant coach of the Nigeria senior national team.

Yusuf replaces former Nigeria international forward, Daniel Amokachi, who worked with coach Stephen Keshi in his first spell in charge of the Super Eagles.

The former Ranchers Bees and El Kanemi midfielder was part of a delegation which attended a coaching seminar in London, where they were tutored on the implementation of the ProZone software in match preparation.

Ike Shorunmu retains his position as goalkeeper trainer, while other backroom staff remains “as constituted during the last international friendly against South Africa in Nelspruit on Sunday, 29 March, 2015,” the statement added.

The officials are expected to join the Super Eagles squad when they regroup in Abuja on Tuesday ahead of a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Chad.
