Army Present Cheques To Families Of Slain Soldiers In North-East

Maj-Gen-Adamu-AbubakarThe Nigerian Army yesterday presented cheques to 62 families of officers and soldiers killed in counter insurgency operations in the North-East geopolitical zone of the country.

The cheques were presented to families of the slain heroes at the Army Headquarters in Abuja by the Chief of Administration, Major General Adamu Abubakar.

According to General Abubakar, the cheques were given by the Office of the National Security Adviser.

“It is not the cheque that is part of the statutory payment; it is just a relief for the family of our fallen heroes in the North-East”, he said, adding that “the family must try as much as possible to start the processing of the benefits of their deceased as early as possible so that we can make prompt payment”.

The chief of administration further stated that the army will sponsor children of the deceased, who are below the age of 18 from nursery school up to the university level.
