President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the government and people of Ghana over the double tragedy of flooding and fire outbreak which led to loss of several lives and property.

In a condolence message on Friday, 5 June 2015 signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, Buhari promised Ghana that Nigeria will stand by it in this moment of grief and loss.
He described the tragic incidences as painful and regrettable.However, Mr President noted that the flooding incident reminds leaders and governments in the West African sub-region of their responsibilities to the problem of global warming, among others.

He prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased and that God should grant their families the fortitude to bear the losses.
