Petr Cech wants to stay in London and “Arsenal is a top club with a philosophy that pleases him,” those positive thoughts have come as a transfer boost for back-to-back FA Cup holders in their bid to sign a class act goalkeeper.
The Czech was demoted to playing second fiddle to the returning Thibaut Courtois last season and has been the subject matter of several transfer speculations linking him with a move away from Stamford Bridge.
Who else but the Premier League champions’ goalkeeping coach, Christophe Lollichone, has hinted that Arsenal could beat Manchester United to the services of the 33-year-old.
“His family like England. A player is happy when his family is happy,” Lollichone told French Radio station RMC.
“He wants to stay in England, but I don’t know where are the discussions. The Premier League is his primary objective, but it will also depend on the conditions.
“The advantage is that Arsenal is a top club, with a philosophy that pleases him and that is in London. It is a base for consideration. I think that Manchester United like (Hugo) Lloris.”
One thing is certain for Cech, who managed just six Premier starts for Chelsea last season, and that is an impending move for better playing time.
